Come sabbia
Dune dal vento sospinte
calda sabbia di deserto infiammato
orme affondano in quei minuscoli granelli
e già non ci sono più
oasi eremita rinfresca
la vita anche a questo sembra
ora arida ora generosa.
Anche i fossili tornano
a madre terra
come sabbia
come polvere
come dimenticanza
come ceneri di nuove fenici
ogni tramonto ha la sua alba.

Like sand
Wind-driven dunes
hot sand of a burning desert
footprints sink into those tiny grains
and they are already gone
hermit oasis refreshes
life seems to be like that too
now arid now generous.
Fossils also return
to mother earth
like sand
like dust
as forgetfulness
like the ashes of new phoenixes
every sunset has its dawn.
