But the Chinese don’t reason so much along this horizontal line, from past to future, through the present: they reason vertically, from what is in one place now to what is in another place now. Questione di giochi di parole e misure: l’abisso dispone l’osservatore in basso, la sua prospettiva è da un fondo verso un sopra, percepito in maniera molto materiale fino a sentirne l’angoscia (sia essa positiva o negativa), la fisicità (scomodo o confortevole, ruvido o accogliente ecc.), ad ogni modo l’abisso lo guardo da me in fuori, quasi una lunghezza matematica; ma la Profondità in senso spirituale è tutto un altro cosmo: la prospettiva è bidimensionale, l’uomo al centro scava nella sua profondità vivendo una sorta di universo amplificato nella sua interiorità raccolta tra mente e nell’area tra cuore e stomaco, tra polmoni e intestino, prospettiva dall’esterno all’interno, introspettivo, tra esperibile e metafisico; una prospettiva della profondità da me verso un Alto Altro Oltre, l’interiorità trasborda e si slancia verso un del tutto al di fuori di me stessa orientata a un Verso, catalizzata, attratta come magnete, una dimensione tra timore e reverenza che elude ogni algoritmo matematico misurabile in quanto atemporale e senza spazio, senza dimensioni come umanamente intese, sfociando e solcando infinito e indicibile, dove tutto si ferma, pensiero e parole, e tutto tace e tutto parla … Abisso e Profondità sono dinamiche che entrambe ci comprendono come appartenenza costitutiva e sono relazioni che entrambe noi cerchiamo di comprendere come conoscenza ed esperienza.

A matter of puns and measurements: the abyss places the observer below, his perspective is from below to above, perceived in a very material way to the point of feeling its anguish (be it positive or negative), its physicality (uncomfortable or comfortable, rough or welcoming, etc.). In any case, I look at the abyss from myself, looking outward, almost like a mathematical length. But Depth, in a spiritual sense, is a whole other cosmos: the perspective is two-dimensional, the man at the center delves into its depths, experiencing a sort of amplified universe in his interiority, gathered between the mind and the area between the heart and the stomach, between the lungs and the intestines, a perspective from the outside to the inside, introspective, between the experienceable and the metaphysical. A perspective of depth from myself toward a Higher Other Beyond, interiority overflows and soars toward something entirely outside myself, oriented toward a Direction, catalyzed, attracted like a magnet, a dimension between fear and reverence that eludes any measurable mathematical algorithm because it is timeless and spaceless, without dimensions as humanly understood, flowing into and ploughing through the infinite and unspeakable, where everything stops, thought and words, and everything is silent and everything speaks… Abyss and Depth are dynamics that both include us as constitutive belonging and are relationships that we both seek to understand as knowledge and experience.
